TOO MANY TEE MARKERS MARKERS!

TOO MANY TEE MARKERS MARKERS! cover

Exciting Updates at Brighton Golf Course

At Brighton Golf Course, our number one priority is the happiness and experience of our golfers. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to make the game more enjoyable, simple, and accessible for everyone.

With the support of Brian Hill from Golf Australia, we’ve reviewed our current tee system and recognised that having too many tee markers can sometimes be confusing. To make things easier, we’re introducing a new system based on short, medium, and long courses.

Why the Change?

The goal of this new initiative is to streamline tee selection without affecting any current slope ratings. The main purpose is to simplify tee usage, particularly for those who play socially outside of competition, which is the majority of our golfers.

How It Works

The tee areas each day will be clearly displayed through a three colour card system and A Frames, ensuring every golfer can easily see which course is in play.

  • Long Course: White – 4,825 metres
  • Mid Course: Gold – (final measurements underway)
  • Short Course: Orange – (final measurements underway)

Daily tee arrangements will be determined by clubs and their match committees, with support from our ground staff, who will ensure tee areas are set up to make the best use of the course.

Timing

These updates are planned to be completed by the end of September and will not affect any printed syllabus events.

Looking Ahead

We’re confident this change will create a more enjoyable and user friendly golfing experience for everyone, whether you’re a regular competitor or simply love playing a casual round with friends.

At Brighton Golf Course, we’re proud to provide an environment where all golfers can feel welcome, supported, and inspired to enjoy the game. We’re excited for you to experience the new system soon and can’t wait to see you out on the course!
